Arrival and pickup at International Airport in Belize City. Three-hour bus ride to Hill Bank Field Station. Welcome and settling into living quarters. Dinner. Orientation to Hill Bank Field Station and Introduction to Programme for Belize.
Day 2: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning birding (optional). Breakfast. Principles of Forest Management. Sustainable Forestry Program Lecture and site visit. Lunch. Field visit. Sustainable Forestry Program sample plot. Dinner. The amazing leafcutter ants’ activity. Night spotting/ Crocodile spotting. Overnight Hill Bank Field Station
Day 3: (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Early morning Birding. Breakfast. Pine Savannah visited to learn about the Yellow-Headed Parrot and the efforts to protect them. Lunch. Tubing down Ram Goat Creek (if weather condition is good). Dinner. Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station.
Day 4: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast then boat trip to Lamanai for tour of archaeological site. Lunch at Las Orquidias Restaurant. Boat trip back to Hill Bank Field Station. Dinner. Camp fire. Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station
Day 5: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early birding. Ranger Presentation about their training and small demonstration of what they do out in the field. Lunch Hiking/exploration around Hill Bank. Dinner. Night Walk. Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station.
Day 6: (Breakfast)
Breakfast. Depart Hill Bank to Airport for flight back home.

Day 1: (D)- TEC
You will be transferred from the Philip Goldson International Airport to the Tropical Education Center (TEC). Conservation talk/Presentation. Dinner. Night tour of The Belize Zoo. Overnight at TEC.
Day 2: (B, L, D)- Crooked Tree
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Bermudian Landing. You will see the endangered Black Howler Monkeys in the wild and learn about this unique grassroots conservation initiative. Transfer to Birds Eye view lodge and check-in. Lunch. Village walk to become familiar with the area after lunch. Overnight at Birds Eye View Lodge.
Day 3: (B, L, D)- Crooked Tree
Early morning boat tour on the lagoon to look for birds and other wildlife. Breakfast, after breakfast you will visit the Belize Audubon Center in the village. Lunch. Afternoon time around the lagoon and hotel. Overnight at Birds Eye View Lodge.
Day 4: (B, L, D)- Hill Bank
Breakfast. Leave Crooked Tree to get boat at Bats Landing to visit the Lamanai Archaeological Site. Tour includes a boat cruise up the New River and across the New River Lagoon to the Village of Indian Church, where Lamanai is located. After Lunch transfer to Hill Bank via boat. Camera trapping clinic (conducted by Dr. F) at Hill Bank. Dinner. Crocodile Spotting at Night (other half does tarantula burrow survey or night lighting for moths, led by instructor). Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station.
Day 5: (B, L, D)- Hill Bank
Early morning Birding. Breakfast. After breakfast learn about sustainable forestry and carbon sequestration plots at Hill Bank. Lunch. After Lunch set camera traps. Dinner. Crocodile Night Spotting for second group. (Other half does tarantula burrow survey or night lighting for moths, led by instructor). Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station.
Day 6: (B, L, D)- Hill Bank

Day 7 (B, L, D)- Hill Bank
Early birding. Hiking/exploration around Hill Bank. Lunch. Wildlife behavioral observation activity (led by instructor). Dinner. Night Walk. Overnight at Hill Bank Field Station.
Day 8: (B, L, D)- Hill Bank
Early morning bird walk. After breakfast, retrieve the camera traps that were placed within the surrounding reserve. Lunch. After lunch, the camera trap is reviewed over to track any wildlife activity. Dinner. Pack and prepare for the following day at La Milpa. Overnight at Hill Bank.
Day 9: (B, L, D)- La Milpa
After breakfast. Transfer to local Mestizo called August Pine Ridge Village where a local healer will share his knowledge about medicinal plants with our group and the group gets to visit the local craft center. After this, we will have lunch at a family home in the village which will be tamales prepared in the most traditional way along with a stop at the Blue Creek for a refreshing swim. Upon arrival everyone will receive a quick orientation and welcome by the Manager of La Milpa. Dinner. Night drive for the first half of the group. (Other half night birding or herpetology activity around lodge, led by instructor). Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 10: (B, L, D)- La Milpa
Early morning birding. Breakfast. After breakfast take a guided tour of the La Milpa Archaeological Site which is located only three miles from the lodge. Lunch. Mahogany Trail Dinner. Night drive for the second half of the group (other half night birding or herpetology activity around lodge, led by instructor). Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 11: (B, L, D)- La Milpa
Early morning birding. Breakfast. After breakfast, you will take a guided tour of the Medicinal Trail to learn about traditional plant uses. Lunch. Self-guided afternoon (leaf cutter ant activity, led by instructor). Dinner. Pack and prepare for the following day departure. Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 12: (B)
Breakfast. Depart from La Milpa and transfer to The Philip Goldson International Airport for your flight.
Day 1: (D)
The group will be transferred from the Philip Goldson International Airport to La Milpa Lodge within the Rio Bravo Reserve. Dinner and Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 2: (B, L, D)
Early morning Birding. Breakfast. After breakfast onsite orientation; Learning community and project overview. Lunch. In the afternoon, you will be driven to August Pine Ridge School and return to the Lodge. Dinner. Night Drive for the group and Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 3: (B, L, D)
Early morning birding. Breakfast. After breakfast drive out to August Pine Ridge where you will spend the entire day. Lunch and Dinner. Overnight at La Milpa.
Day 4: (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Depart from La Milpa to Banquitas House of Culture (Orange Walk). Lunch. Return to La Milpa and along the way swim at dam (weather permitting). Dinner and overnight at La Milpa.
Day 5: (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Depart from La Milpa to Bat’s Landing in Tower Hill where you will take a boat ride up the New River to the archaeological site of Lamanai. Lunch at Las Orquidias in Indian church Village then boat ride back to Tower Hill. Dinner and overnight at La Milpa.
Day 6: (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Guided tour of the La Milpa archaeological site. Lunch and afternoon free time. Dinner
and overnight at La Milpa.
Day 7: (B)
Breakfast. Transfer from La Milpa to the International Airport where the group returns home.

Day 1: (D)
Arrive in Belize at the International Airport. Meet and Greet at the airport by Programme for Belize representative and naturalist guide. Three-hour bus ride to La Milpa Field Station. Welcome and settling into living quarters. Dinner. Orientation to La Milpa Ecolodge.
Day 2: (B,LD)
Early morning birding (optional). Breakfast. Presentation on Programme for Belize. Tropical forest observation. Introduction to the tropics and ecological life zones. Lunch. Mahogany Trail; self-exploration. Dinner. Presentation on Belizean Fauna. Night Hike /spotting.
Day 3: (B,LD)
Early morning birding. Breakfast. Introduction to field botany, tree identification, field exercise on sampling methodology. Lunch. Bajo Trail; self-exploration. Dinner. Presentation on forest types and uses, Night walk.
Day 4: (B,LD)
Breakfast. Visit to Maya/Mestizo village. Lunch in local village. Cultural and Medicinal presentation: Craft Centre; swimming. Dinner. Maya/Archaeology Presentation.
Day 5: (B,LD)
Breakfast. Visit to Lamanai Maya site. Pack lunch. Swimming. Dinner. Discussion on the importance of the rain forest. What you can do to protect them.
Day 6: (B,LD)
Optional birding. Breakfast. Tour of La Milpa archaeological site. Lunch. The amazing leafcutter ants. Visit the Gift shop. Pre-departure cleanup. Dinner; Belizean dance.
Day 7 : (B,LD)
Breakfast. Depart for Belize City. Two hour visit to Belize Zoo en-route. Lunch at Cheers. Transfer to Dangriga dock then enjoy a boat ride to South Water Caye. Orientation to island and facilities. Dock walk. Dinner. Video presentation on Marine Ecology– Sea of Belize.
Day 8 : (B,LD)
Breakfast. Snorkel gear check, lessons in shallow water for beginners. Island birds. Lunch. Video presentation on Fish– the Fish book. Snorkel grass beds. Activity – identification of algae, coral, fish and invertebrates. Dinner. Video Presentation on Mangrove- a Valuable Resource.
Day 9 : (B,LD)
Breakfast. Boat trip to study mangroves, patch reef and fore reef (weather permitting). Lunch. Snorkel patch reef. Dinner.
Day 10 : (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Visit to Man-O –War Caye Bird Sanctuary. Snorkel sink holes and Tobacco Caye. Lunch. Invertebrate study. Video Presentation on Belize– The Sea, The Land, The People. Dinner
Day 11: (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Snorkeling at Whale Shoal. Lunch Optional activity: Gift Shop. Pre-departure cleanup. Dinner. Work project presentations. Farewell Party.
Day 12: (B)
Breakfast. Boat transfer from South Water Caye to Dangriga. Land Transfer from Dangriga to Belize International Airport. Shopping at the local handicraft center (Time permitting).
